Who is happier?

This question still puzzles me, many observations later - I am still nonplussed. Is it someone who sees life and the world as an intricate pattern full of symbolism and possibilities. Or is it someone who sees life as is - the plain, let us have fun and let us live it to its fullest without understanding any of it. Which of the above is happier? Which one is more content? Can you choose how you see the world and interpret it?

Obviously the person having fun is happier, lol.

No chance of the symbolism studies and intricate patterns bringing any joy to anyone ;)

Hahahaha....I guessed as much. But when you really think about it - the person who sees the world in symbols and patterns can always take time off and live it up, but difficult for the fun having people to develop the former, ain't it :P

But whats the point of developing the ability to see symbols and patterns. As someone so rightly put it, "In the long run we are all dead!!!"

The point of developing the ability to connect and join the dots - so that you can create? A piece of art or maybe even come up with things like the theory of relativity :) In the long run we are dead of course - but doesn't mean we stop living the way we want to or the way we can :)

That is the point. Living in the way we want to!!! That is the answer to your original question. The person who is happier, is one who is living as he/she wants to, nothing to do with patterns or just having fun.
